I have attended the meditation seminar of the Chopra Center, Seduction of Spirit. It was an awesome experience practicing meditation together with 350 people. Just blissful silence with the collective consciousness with others. Dancing in the cosmic universe. Starting with the sunrise meditation at 6 a.m., yoga, sessions, seminars, lunch, activities, group meditation, yoga, and so on. Releasing all my spirit freely in the universe.

Great weather, not too hot but just right. Quite comfortable to work in the park. I have finished as I planned. Hope you enjoy them. Observation jut witnessing myself during the drawing. See you next weekend.

On May 8, it was quite windy and cloudy. Just right temperature but too cold to stay outside for some time. I eventually finished up some of my works and had other things in the afternoon. However, I enjoyed very much working there. Peaceful time except wind blowing, just hearing some primordial sounds. Be with the nature and observe myself and the outcomes.

Yesterday, a very nice girl came over to and she wanted to do her drawing next to mine. I had a wonderful time working with her.

It was also very nice day today for me to get the drawing done. You can see the one the day before.

I have started my chalk drawings in the park from April 10, again.

It's been some time from last November and I am very happy to be back here.

I will be at the same place in the park every weekend on the sunny days.

October is my last month to work at the park. I have enjoyed very much this year again. This is the last work for this year. I hope you have enjoyed as much as I have. Then I will be working in my studio for the winter.

The drawing was progressed as shown. A lady came over and said it looked like a life. It is "Ever changing, no ending", which I intend to do so. It is more interesting and challenging. You do not know what will be next. The viewer can enjoy, too.

If everyone can enjoy, the works are very successful. It is difficult to be free. If you are really free, the artworks can tell you. When I was drawing this one, the little girl came to me and joined a small part as though she knew what she had to do. Great moment for me! She taught me how. Thank you.

We had some bad weather a couple of weeks ago. I, however, managed some works. I can expand some more on them or besides them. The rain helps the images to be settled on the pavement. There are new things happening everyday. It is great! I thank the welcoming words from some of the friends.

I Returned To The Park For Chalk Drawings.

I returned to the park as I announced last. It's been about six months since I enjoyed the drawing there last year. From the park you can look at the statue of the Liberty. I came back at the middle of April starting new ones. I have waited until the weather got warm up. The first day was very nice but still little cool. Then we had a very hot weekend a couple of weeks ago. Just like the summer. Until then I took a little trip back to Japan in March. Tokyo, the busy city, Kyoto where I was born, and Kumamoto where my wife 's home town. I met some friends and family there. It was very good to see them, because I seldom go back there. From now on, every weekend I will be working the chalk drawing in the BPCP on the sunny days. Stop by when you get nearby.

Just A Thought

I usually wake up to do my artwork around 2 am everyday. It is now so cold even in the apartment. We, here in NY, had a winter weather a few days ago just it should be now. It's been so cold but it is nice to know that we have winter since the global warming is damaging this earth. We used to have a lot of snow in the winter. We do need to think about saving here. Don't you think so? I was thinking about it while my daily drawing. It is also my meditation time. Just a thought.

Artworks At Studio

Since the weather is getting cold and it is getting into winter, I usually do my artworks at studio/home. It is the time for me to prepare for my corresponding artworks for my friends, which I have been doing for over 25 years. I do not know how many artworks I have created. Twice every year, about 450 cards or artworks have been created with my messages to be sent out to them. Each artwork is different. I do not know how many persons would have kept them, either. But it is okay for them whatever they want to do. When my creativity is working, I do care the quality of each work. I just have to be healthy as long as I continue them. That is the "Art De Genki" for. Thanks to all of my friends.

Last weekend should have been my last chalk activities for the year. Unfortunately, I was tied up with other things and the last Sunday was windy and cold. I could not bear to stay outside. So, I will see you all next Spring. Wish you very happy holidays! Stay healthy! See you all in Genki.

Wonderful Conversation

This weekend was wonderful. When I was drawing, a little girl came over and she asked,
“How do you think about the picture?”
I said, “Through my good night sleep.”
She wondered and then a lady near us said “it comes naturally, right?”
I enjoyed the conversation with them.
The next weekend will be my last chalk drawing this year.

Then I will be back to the park next spring.

The second rainy Sunday

I could not go out for the chalk drawing on Sunday, either. As it was raining early morning yesterday, I was quite disappointed not to be able to continue my chalk drawings in the park. However I had other things to finish up before the middle of this month to start the new project. Somehow the rain was giving me the opportunity to finish up the remaining project for me. In another couple of weekends, I will finish for this year's chalk drawing. Because the weather is getting cold. I will see how and how much I can do till then.

A rainy day

It has been raining since Friday, September 26. I wanted to go out to the park to continue my last week’s drawing. Maybe the weather is telling me to work inside instead; but I went out for walk and I noticed the chalk drawings in the park were so pretty just like under transparent sheet. The chalk pigments got into the pavement and the drawings were shinning in the rain. Since I am not a good photographer, I could not take a picture of it. I thought the surface was too shinny. I hope some of my friends will notice it. Now I am ready for the next weekend.

This is my first blog.

One of my good friend set up my English home pages.

In this summer I have been practicing chalk drawing at the Battery Park City Park on the weekends. It is very good for me do my artwork there, because I can get direct feed backs from viewers, like " I like it.","Do you think of it before drawing?", "What's that?", etc.

I enjoy talking to them. This will give me GENKI from them exchanging my artwork.
